The SARAS AJEEVIKA MELA is an endeavour by Ministry of Rural Development to provide to the rural women producers a national platform and an opportunity to showcase their products.
St. Xavier’s High School, sector 81 organised an educational field trip to Saras Mela, focusing on the theme of “Unity in Diversity.”
Saras Mela, an annual fair that showcases the rich cultural heritage of India, provided an excellent opportunity for students to witness the diversity of our country and how it comes together in harmony.
The primary objective of this field trip was to expose students to the various traditions, arts, crafts, and cuisines of India, emphasizing how the nation’s unity is enriched by its diverse cultures.The fair featured stalls from different states, each showcasing their unique traditions and products.
Students had the chance to explore clothing, handicrafts, and art from various regions, appreciating the diversity of India.The Saras Mela also had a designated “Fun Zone,” which was a hub of excitement for all attendees. In this lively area, students had the opportunity to engage in a variety of thrilling activities, such as tattoo making and bouncing on trampolines. These activities added an extra layer of enjoyment to the field trip, ensuring that students had a memorable and entertaining experience while exploring the cultural diversity of the fair.
The Saras Mela field trip successfully conveyed the message of “Unity in Diversity.” Students gained a deeper understanding and appreciation for India’s rich cultural mosaic.
