On 14th October, our Grade 1 students had an exciting and educational visit to the local fire station under the EVS topic “People who help us”.The children were greeted by friendly firefighters who gave them a warm welcome and made them feel at ease. The visit began with a tour of the fire station, where the students got a behind-the-scenes look at the equipment and the daily life of firefighters.
The firefighters explained their roles and responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of fire safety. The students were shown how fire trucks work and many were amazed at the size of the equipment. They explained how each piece of equipment helps keep them safe when fighting fires. The students were very interested in the heavy boots, helmets and oxygen tanks.
The firefighters also taught the children some valuable fire safety tips. The children participated enthusiastically and asked many thoughtful questions.
The visit to the fire station not only gave the students a greater appreciation for firefighters and their work but also reinforced essential safety lessons in a fun and memorable way.
