“Celebrating Freedom, One Heartbeat at a Time” – Day II of Independence Week
“Freedom is nothing else but a chance to be better.” – Albert Camus
The spirit of patriotism glowed brighter on the second day of our Independence Day Week celebrations, as every corner of the school pulsed with creativity, learning, and heartfelt expressions of love for the motherland.
Our Pre-Nursery and Nursery little chefs donned their aprons for a delightful Kitchenette Activity, crafting colourful tricolour sandwiches. With tiny hands layering green, white, and orange, they not only prepared a tasty treat but also created a beautiful edible emblem of unity. Their giggles and pride were the perfect garnish.
In Kindergarten (KG) and Upper Kindergarten (UKG), curiosity took flight as children immersed themselves in an engaging Independence Day story. Through vivid visuals and relatable characters, they absorbed the essence of freedom and the courage it demands, leaving their young hearts inspired.
Grade I journeyed through history with an interactive audiovisual presentation on India’s freedom fighters. The tales of sacrifice and bravery lit a spark of admiration, deepening their understanding that independence was hard-earned through unwavering unity.
Grade II blended art with language, sketching vibrant images of India and composing heartfelt Hindi lines, transforming their thoughts into vivid strokes and soulful words.
Grade III explored the theme “Unity is Strength”, designing impactful posters that served as visual reminders that our diversity is the very foundation of our strength.
Adding to the cultural grandeur of the day, students were captivated by the SPIC MACAY Puppetry Event, a vibrant showcase of India’s rich heritage. Through the mesmerising art of traditional puppetry, students not only witnessed timeless folk tales come alive but also absorbed the values, traditions, and artistry that have been passed down through generations. It was a journey into the soul of our culture, reminding us that freedom is also about preserving the roots that make us who we are.
The day concluded with a shared sense of pride, gratitude, and renewed commitment to uphold the values our freedom stands for. As we look ahead to the remaining celebrations, one truth resonates deeply: We are the children of freedom, and the torchbearers of its future.
