In celebration of World Food Day, our kindergarten children participated in a variety of engaging activities centered around the theme "Food for All: A Better Future Together."
The nursery students enjoyed a hands-on kitchenette activity, preparing a delicious chickpea salad by mixing chickpeas, cucumber, pomegranate, salt, and spices. Their excitement in creating and savoring their dish was a highlight of the day. The pre-nursery class set up a vibrant vegetable mart and engaged in a role play on buying vegetables, which the whole nursery group visited, expanding their knowledge about different vegetables.
Upper kindergarten students participated in a thoughtful discussion on food donation drives related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), followed by a creative session where they drew healthy food plates. For Grade 2, students learnt about the life cycle of plants and the basics of gardening, while also being encouraged to share food with the needy. Grade 3 students explored Zero Hunger, one of the key SDGs, emphasizing the importance of food sustainability and community support.
These activities not only fostered an appreciation for healthy eating but also reinforced the values of sharing and sustainability.
