In September, the UKG class embraced the concept of Activity-Based Learning, engaging students in a variety of interactive activities across different subjects.
For English, children participated in a special book reading session in the library on Literacy Day and enjoyed see-and-spell games that made learning spellings both fun and engaging.
In Math, the kids learnt the concepts of ascending and descending order through creative activities like the paper glass and staircase game, while the add-on blocks game helped them grasp the fundamentals of addition playfully.
The theme for the month, Plants, was explored through hands-on activities. Students went on a nature walk to observe different types of plants, used play dough to create plant parts and engaged in leaf printing to discover the various patterns in leaves. A special craft activity allowed them to illustrate the life cycle of an apple plant, further solidifying their understanding of how plants grow.
Additionally, the importance of environmental awareness was highlighted through poster making on Ozone Day, where children learnt about the significance of protecting the ozone layer.
This approach to learning has helped the children not only understand concepts better but also made the process of learning enjoyable and memorable.
