Republic Day Celebrations at St. Xavier's High School
The spirit of patriotism and unity echoed through the halls of St. Xavier's High School as students from Nursery to Grade 3 celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm and pride.
The Nursery and Pre-Nursery children brought the theme of "Unity in Diversity" to life. Nursery students dressed in colorful state attires and participated in a Show and Tell activity, sharing insights about different cultures, while the Pre-Nursery children created a beautiful Indian flag with their tiny handprints, symbolizing courage, peace, and growth.
The Kindergarten and Upper Kindergarten students engaged in a Show and Tell competition on the theme "Leaders of Our Country." Dressed as their favorite national heroes, they showcased their admiration and respect. The little ones also crafted tricolor headgears, enjoyed a virtual tour of the Republic Day parade, and sang "We Shall Overcome," fostering a sense of unity and determination.
In Grade 1, students expressed their solidarity and love for the nation by donning tricolor outfits, adding to the patriotic ambiance.
Grade 2 commenced the celebrations with an insightful discussion on the significance of Republic Day. A virtual tour of India’s rich heritage followed, along with an engaging roleplay where students dressed as freedom fighters and spoke about their contributions to India’s independence. They also designed beautiful bookmarks, serving as a proud reminder of the nation’s unity and diversity.
The students of Grade 3 took part in creative activities by making Republic Day-themed badges and watching an inspiring video, deepening their understanding of the importance of this national celebration.
The entire celebration was a joyful tribute to the values of our republic, leaving students with a profound sense of national pride and belonging.
