Ganesh Chaturthi – A Celebration of Wisdom & Devotion

“Lord Ganesha is the remover of obstacles, the harbinger of wisdom, and the symbol of new beginnings.”

St. Xavier’s High School, Sector 81, reverberated with festive joy as the Xaverians came together to celebrate the auspicious festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. The day unfolded with vibrant activities across grades, each blending creativity, devotion, and learning.

The youngest Xaverians from the Pre-Nursery and Nursery groups welcomed Lord Ganesha with innocent enthusiasm and artistic flair. The Pre-Nursery children crafted eco-friendly Ganeshas using fresh green leaves, while the Nursery students lovingly shaped clay into little idols of the deity. They also enjoyed watching a short story on Ganesh Chaturthi, which deepened their understanding of the festival’s significance.

The spirit of devotion carried forward with the KG and UKG children, who were captivated by the story of Lord Ganesha’s birth. Their voices filled the classrooms with purity as they sang bhajans and devotional songs, creating an atmosphere charged with divine energy.

In Grade I, the celebration took on a creative and reflective tone. The children molded their own Ganesha idols and engaged with an interactive audio-visual presentation that brought alive the symbolism of Lord Ganesha. The rhythmic chanting of Ganesh mantras instilled serenity and focus, while a thoughtful classroom discussion encouraged the young learners to reflect upon the values of wisdom, patience, and new beginnings that Ganesha represents.

Grade II students too immersed themselves in the festive spirit through mantra chanting and storytelling sessions that emphasized the virtues embodied by Lord Ganesha.
Teachers also took this opportunity to impart an important lesson on celebrating festivals responsibly by adopting eco-friendly practices. Children were sensitized about the harmful effects of chemical idols and were encouraged to use natural, biodegradable materials, thereby linking faith with sustainability.

The Ganesh Chaturthi celebration at St. Xavier’s High School, Sector 81, was not merely an occasion of festivity but a meaningful experience that nurtured creativity, cultural awareness, and moral values among the young Xaverians. The school resonated with joy, devotion, and positivity as the children embraced the essence of this sacred festival.

✨ May Lord Ganesha bless all with wisdom, joy, and success, and may this Ganesh Chaturthi mark the beginning of new hopes and brighter beginnings for every Xaverian and their families.

The engaging experience not only boosted the children’s confidence, independence, and proactive behavior but also nurtured their social-emotional skills.

A stationery shop was creatively set up in the classrooms by the facilitators, where children explored and purchased items of their choice using play currency. This hands-on activity gave them an early insight into financial literacy while fostering decision-making skills.

Such experiential learning opportunities make our young Xaverians curious, confident, and ready to embrace real-life situations with joy and enthusiasm. We look forward to creating many more such enriching experiences for our children.

The young learners were introduced to the process of creating organic manure using everyday biodegradable materials such as vegetable peels, brown waste paper, dry leaves, and soil. The activity was carried out in traditional clay pots (matkas), making the experience both engaging and hands-on.

The workshop was facilitated by our parent partners from Green Samaritans, Ms. Juhi and Ms. Nandini, who guided the students step by step through the composting process. They also highlighted the importance of organic manure in enriching the soil and preserving its fertility, thereby instilling the values of sustainability and responsible waste management in our learners.

As a token of gratitude, the guests were felicitated with a planter, symbolizing the school’s commitment to nurturing a greener and sustainable future.

“Freedom is the open window through which pours the sunlight of the human spirit and human dignity.”

The morning of Wednesday, 13 August 2025 dawned with a spirit of patriotism at St. Xavier’s High School, Sector 81, as students from Pre-Nursery to Grade III gathered to honour the nation’s 79th Independence Day with reverence and pride.

The celebration commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony led by our respected Headmistress, Ms. Ramandeep Kaur, and esteemed Coordinator, Ms. Shivani Mehra. As the tricolour unfurled against the clear sky, voices united in singing the National Anthem, filling the campus with an air of devotion and unity.

A heartfelt poem recitation by our Hindi teachers beautifully captured the essence of freedom and sacrifice, resonating deeply with every listener. This was followed by a special assembly by Class III-I, where students showcased India’s journey towards independence through inspiring performances and patriotic expressions.

The event reached a moment of reflection with the Words of Wisdom from our Headmistress, who urged students to cherish the freedoms they enjoy, uphold their responsibilities as citizens, and keep the flame of patriotism burning bright.

The celebration was a harmonious blend of tradition, learning, and heartfelt emotion — a testament to St. Xavier’s High School’s commitment to nurturing responsible, proud, and compassionate citizens of tomorrow.

“May the tricolour always fly high and the spirit of freedom live forever in our hearts. Wishing everyone a Happy Independence Day!”

With tiny hands layering green, white, and orange, they not only prepared a tasty treat but also created a beautiful edible emblem of unity. Their giggles and pride were the perfect garnish.

Their tiny yet resolute voices echoed the nation’s timeless ideals.

In Kindergarten, a Patriotic Singing Competition infused the air with soul-stirring melodies. Clad in the hues of the tricolour, the young choristers rendered songs that radiated love, unity, and national pride.

Grade I honoured the day with a heartfelt rendition of Vande Mataram, followed by an insightful discussion on its essence and how it differs from our national anthem, Jana Gana Mana.

                                🌿Grade II-A -Special Assembly – Celebrating Rakshabandhan with an Eco-friendly Heart! 🌿

Our young learners from Class II-A  presented a beautiful and meaningful assembly on the festival of Rakshabandhan, held on Wednesday, 6 August 2025.

The theme – Rakshabandhan was beautifully presented with a poem,A short skit followed by pledge which encouraged us all to celebrate traditions with a sense of responsibility towards the environment by making conscious decisions of using Eco - Friendly Rakhis . Children showcased plantable and reusable rakhis , sharing the message that love and care can also extend to Mother Earth .

The assembly included a touching narration of the historical tale of Rani Karnavati and Emperor Humayun , highlighting how Rakhi has always been a symbol of protection, compassion and unity.

Our little changemakers reminded everyone that festivals can embrace values of both tradition and sustainability. Let us all learn from their enthusiasm to celebrate with consciousness and compassion — not just for our families, but for the planet we call home.

Kudos to the students of II-A  for this inspiring initiative.

Friendship Day Celebration at St. Xavier’s High School, Sector 81

St. Xavier’s High School, Sector 81, echoed with laughter, creativity, and heartfelt moments as students from Pre-Nursery to Grade III came together to celebrate the beautiful bond of friendship πŸ’›.

The tiny tots of Pre-Nursery and Nursery began their celebration with a captivating storytelling session of “The Elephant and His Friends” πŸ˜πŸ“–—a tale that highlighted kindness, inclusivity, and the value of true friends. The little ones then created colourful friendship bands πŸŽ¨πŸ’«, exchanging them with one another in a gesture filled with joy, warmth, and innocence.

In Kindergarten and Upper Kindergarten, children crafted vibrant friendship badges πŸ…πŸ–οΈ and shared them with their classmates. The smiles and hugs exchanged reflected the spirit of unity, compassion, and happiness that friendship brings πŸ€—πŸ’–.

Grade I students enjoyed a fun-filled movie outing 🎬🍿 that brought them closer as they laughed, cheered, and bonded over their shared experience. The excitement of being together outside the classroom made the celebration truly memorable.

Grade II students poured their love and imagination into creating handmade friendship cards and bands πŸ’ŒπŸ§΅. The joy of giving and receiving these tokens made the day extra special and meaningful.

Taking the celebration a creative notch higher, Grade III students penned and presented self-composed poems πŸ“πŸŽ€ dedicated to their friends. Their thoughtful verses reflected emotions of trust, care, and gratitude, beautifully capturing the essence of friendship.

The celebration across all grades was a heartfelt reminder that friendship nurtures joy, empathy, and lifelong memories.
