“India – the great country where each bud blooms in its true colours, where each day is a celebration of unity, harmony, and synthesis.” Our beautiful country got the much-deserved freedom after a long struggle. Every year, we celebrate our Independence Day with the same fervor, love, and pride.
The Pre-Primers were also equally excited for a 3-day long celebration of our National Festival. Throughout the week, the children were made aware of our country’s rich heritage, the long struggle for freedom and the contribution of our freedom fighters and many unsung heroes who gave up their lives to see our country free again. The celebrations started from Friday and the preparations that the kids had done were overwhelming. The virtual atmosphere was full of energy, fun, and patriotism. Everyone was cheerful and singing songs like “We Shall Overcome” and “Saare Jahan Se Accha.” The Pre-Nursery kids were thrilled to make a tricolor sandwich. The Nursery kids made beautiful kites using pulses and rice. The Kindergarteners were delighted to do role play on our Freedom Fighters. Our little ones were dressed up as Rani Lakshmibai, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Chacha Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, and many more and gave a stupendous performance. Saturday had the theme of “Cinematic Patriotism.” The little Xaverians were dressed up in tricolors and watched some short stories related to our freedom fighters and Independence Day. They had some fun with dance and music. The celebrations commenced with a webinar on Day 3 - “Historical Flash Walk.” Children prepared a beautiful dance number and some inspiring role plays for the webinar.
Hoisting our National Flag is always a moment of pride for every Indian. It reminds us that we are independent in so many ways. So, let’s not take our independence for granted and do our bit to make India a better place, a country that our future generations can always be proud of. Jai Hind!!
