The festival of lights was celebrated with immense joy, creativity, and enthusiasm as St. Xavier’s High School lit up with week-long festivities. Everyone came dressed in beautiful traditional attire, adding colour, charm, and festive sparkle to the celebrations. The Diwali Week Celebration was a perfect blend of learning, fun, and festivity, where students across all grades participated in a series of engaging activities that beautifully reflected the true essence of Diwali — the victory of light over darkness and good over evil.
The Pre-Primary Wing commenced the celebrations on Day 1 with an engaging story on the Festival of Lights, helping children understand the significance of spreading love, light, and happiness. Day 2 witnessed the little Xaverians joyfully taking part in a Bandhanwar Drawing and Colouring Activity in their art files, filling the corridors with colour and cheer. On Day 3, the excitement grew as children painted diyas with great zeal, adding sparkle and joy to the celebration. The week concluded with a grand Diwali party where Nursery children made beautiful lanterns as festive take-aways, Kindergarten students created vibrant Diwali crafts and enjoyed an animated story session, and UKG students participated in a Diwali Storytelling Competition, showcasing creativity and confidence.
The Primary Wing celebrated Diwali with equal enthusiasm. Grade I students began the day with a captivating Diwali assembly followed by a cheerful class party and an origami diya-making activity. They also pledged to celebrate a Green and Clean Diwali, promoting the message of environmental sustainability. Grade II students, dressed in traditional attire, enjoyed a delightful class party and created their own diyas, adding a touch of creativity to the celebration. Grade III students took the festivities a step further by conducting an Anti-Cracker Awareness Drive, spreading awareness about protecting the environment from pollution.
The week-long Diwali celebration truly illuminated the hearts of all Xaverians, fostering values of joy, unity, and environmental consciousness. It was not just a celebration, but a radiant reminder to spread light, happiness, and hope all around.
