The Pre-Primary wing celebrated Earth Day with their class teachers dressed up in blue and green attires denoting the colours of our planet. Children were made aware of the importance of this day and how some things like pollution and deforestation are making our planet sad and slowly inhabitable. Children learnt that they can also be a saviour of our planet and how their small contributions like saving electricity, water and paper can have a big impact in making our Earth a better place. The concept of "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" was also emphasized upon. The Pre-Nursery kids did some hand printing on a paper plate with green colour, signifying the vast land and forests present on our planet.The Nursery kids made an Earth headband and happily wore it home. The Kindergarteners made a cute badge by colouring their own small Earths and pasting heart and paper strips on them. 

Let us all be conscious of how we are treating our dear Earth because at the end, we have only one special planet to live. Let's make our Earth feel loved and special and make every day Earth Day.

Earth Day Celebration @St. Xavier’s High School, Sector 81

Earth Day 2022: Invest in Our Planet 
(A green future is a prosperous future.)
Earth Day 2022 is focused on accelerating solutions to combat our greatest threat, climate change, and to activate everyone – governments, citizens, and businesses – to do their part.
 
At St. Xavier’s High School, it has been a constant endeavour to sensitize our students to global issues and raise responsible citizens. Aligned to this, a myriad of activities were organised on the occasion of Earth's Day to remind the students of their duties towards ‘Mother Nature’ and bequeathing a platform to showcase their creativity, confidence, competence and imagination.

To mark the celebration, various activities  were held. Students expressed their views and spread awareness about saving Mother Earth through short speeches, poems, songs, posters, banners etc. They also created fabulous Earth Day crafts like headgears, badges, flower bouquets etc. The concept of reduce, reuse and recycle was emphasized through diverse science projects and experiment. The celebration ended with a pledge of honoring the Earth and making collaborative efforts to protect our environment.

Pre-Primary Wing – DEAR Day, Easter, Ambedkar Jayanti, Baisakhi celebrations 

The Pre-Primary wing had a lot to celebrate in the second week of April. “Drop Everything And Read or DEAR Day” was observed on April 12th to remind everyone about the importance of reading. The little Xaverians were made aware of how important reading is and how it opens a whole new world for everyone. The kids were very excited when they had pictorial books in their hands and explored some picture reading. They even came up with their own stories. To make the day more memorable, the Kindergarteners made a bookmark that had the message of “Read More” and were explained the use of it. 

Kids also got to know about Easter Day or the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. They were delighted to know about the Easter bunny and its significance. Pre-Nursery kids pasted small colourful eggs on a big egg. Nursery kids did an Easter egg hunt where they collected eggs from their class and pasted them on a bunny. The KG kids beautifully coloured an Easter egg worksheet.

The week also had Ambedkar Jayanti and Baisakhi celebrations in store. Kids saw the picture of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and got to know about his contribution in shaping the Constitution of our country. The day was also special as kids celebrated the harvest festival of Baisakhi. The Pre-Primary wing was all painted yellow as everyone was dressed up in the yellow attire. Children were made aware of how this festival is celebrated and the important things related to it. They saw the story of Baisakhi and enjoyed dancing and doing bhangra with their friends. The Pre-Nursery kids did some earbud dabbing on a corn. The Nursery kids made an interesting Phirki craft or origami fan. The Kindergarteners decorated a dhol signifying the joyful celebrations. The kids were thrilled and happy to explain their parents about their handmade crafts as they took them home as a takeaway.

Good Friday and Easter Special Assembly@ St. Xavier’s High School, Sec.81

Celebrations provide excellent opportunities to students to learn with excitement, enthusiasm and joy. Our special assembly on 11th April'22  enlightened Xaverians about the significance of Good Friday and Easter.

The assembly encompassed an array of insightful speeches, presentations and craft activities. The students of Grade I and II were actively engrossed with great ecstasy in making their creative Easter headgears and adorable paper bunnies. The students were informed about Easter day as it is the celebration of resurrection of Jesus Christ .It is also believed that Jesus was crucified on Good Friday and rose again three days later on Easter Sunday.

Xaverians learnt a lesson of sacrifice for humanity and realised that Easter is the time to rejoice and be thankful for the gift of life, love and joy. Wishing a blessed Easter to everyone!!
