      DUSSEHRA  ASSEMBLY

St. Xavier’s High School, reigned in the festive season with excitement and enthusiasm on October 16, 2018 with the joyous Dussehra festivities.

The assembly commenced with prayer and confident speeches enlightening the audience with the significance of the festival. It was followed by a melodious poem by the nightingales of grade IV.

The day is celebrated to commemorate the prevalence of good our evil. It was reflected well in the skit performed by the students on the topic “Bullying”  to enlighten their peers about the ill-effects of bullying and how we should pledge ourselves not to adorn such despicable behaviour personified by Ravana  which is rampant today and develop the qualities to become Ram.

A visual treat for the attendees was the Dandiya Dance by Grade VII students in colourful and vibrant attires.

The audience brimmed with excitement and cheered, to lift up the spirit of the diligent performers who danced into their hearts gracefully.

Well synched and vibrant dance by the primary teachers amazed the students.

The festivities ended with a sparling climax by burning the Ravana effigy in the school ground.

The celebrations culminated with the moral to “strive to gain victory over all forms of evil within and around us, to keep the world a safe and peaceful place for all”.

Wish you all a very Happy Dussehra!!
