Janamashtami celebration with Pre Primary kids -
Time for celebration is here again, as it's the birthday of everyone's favourite Lord Krishna. Each year, Janmashtami is observed with great pomp and show across the country to celebrate the “Lord of Love.” The Pre-Primers celebrated the festival of Janmashtami with full ardour and energy. The kids prepared a dance number and they also learnt beautiful rhymes and interesting things related to Krishna's life in their classes. For the celebration, everyone was happily dressed up in traditional attire. The boys were looking super cute as they dressed up as little Krishnas and the girls looked beautiful as little Radhas. Children watched stories about Lord Krishna’s birth, his naughty childhood, his love for butter, his magical powers and how he used to help and take care of others. Children danced and had fun as they celebrated the occasion. They were happy to sing rhymes and some had even prepared shlokas from the sacred book of Gita. Pre-Nursery kids decorated matki and also made Krishna’s crown that had a peacock feather. The Nursery kids made a beautiful flute that Krishna loved to play for everyone. The Kindergarteners made a beautiful Matki craft and decorated it. The virtual environment was filled with “Jai Shree Krishna” and “Hathi Ghoda Palki, Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki.” May Lord Krishna steal all your worries and give you peace and happiness throughout the year. Happy Janmashtami to everyone!!

‘Festivals are characterised by colour, gaiety, enthusiasm, prayers and rituals.’

St. Xavier’s High School, sec.81,Gurugram ,27th August,21 : On the occasion of Janmashtami ,to mark the birth and earthly arrival of Lord Krishna,  a splendidly colourful special assembly was conducted with great fervour and gaiety for the grades I-X. The sole objective of Sri Krishna’s birth and to celebrate Janmashtami is to free the Earth from the evilness of demons. The assembly echoed with the famous shlokas from the Bhagavad Gita. The students were shown enlightening videos on the life of Lord Krishna, which helped them to understand the meaning and purpose of Janmashtami celebration.
It was spectacular to watch Xaverians presenting teachings of Lord Krishna through poems and speeches. The bright and joyful faces of children lit the festive aura with the spirit of love, devotion and faith. The students elaborated on how and why we celebrate Janmashtami. Devotional song singing, dancing and dramatization through melodious devotional music by the perfectly decked up Xaverians, enthralled everyone. Adorable Radha’s and Krishna’s were a treat to watch. Xaverians were soaked in the spirit of Janmashtami by making creative awestriking craft items. Beautiful decorations were also put up at the school to make the event vibrant and lively. The celebration concluded with lord Krishna’s message ‘Victory of good over evil’. All in all, a perfect virtual ambience was created and Xaverians enjoyed themselves to the fullest along with an enriching celebration.

Rakshabandhan is not just about Rakhis, sweets, and gifts. It is also about the unique bond between a brother and a sister. Rakhi is a thread that binds two different souls in a bond of joy forever. This unique relationship cannot be described in words. Our siblings can be our biggest friend or the biggest critic or the one with whom we fight on every small thing, but still, they are there whenever we need them. The unspoken love and warmth between them never fade away, no matter how old they grow or how far they are. The Pre-Primers enthusiastically celebrated this festival on Thursday. Throughout the week, the teachers had made them familiar with the true essence of this sacred day.  They learnt songs and saw interesting stories. The Pre-Nursery kids were all ready for the celebration and some even had a puja thali with them. They made beautiful rakhis with rhinestones and different shape cutouts. The Nursery kids also had a lot of fun. They danced and made a “Minion” Rakhi for themselves. The Kindergarteners beautifully coloured a drawing related to Rakshabandhan in their EVS booklets. They also made really cute and easy “Panda” and “Peppa Pig” Rakhis. The kids were excited to sing the rhymes learnt in the class and at home for this beautiful day. The day was indeed filled with a lot of love and happiness We wish for this loving bond between the brothers and sisters to grow stronger with each passing day. Happy Rakshabandhan to everyone!!

The paths may change as life goes along, but the bond between a brother and sister remains ever strong.’
Raksha Bandhan is one of the most endearing ways to celebrate the bond between the brothers and sisters. To strengthen this bond a special assembly on ‘Raksha Bandhan’ was conducted with great ardour and gaiety on 19th August’21 @St. Xavier’s High School, sec.81. The event was celebrated with full enthusiasm and zeal as we believe that such celebrations of festivals with true spirit will teach students about our rich Indian traditions. The sight of superb Xaverians in their traditional attires was one to behold. The event commenced by invoking the blessings of  the lord with a prayer. A talk was presented by Xaverians in their respective classes to mark the significance of the occasion highlighting the bond between brother and sister and the brother’s solemn promise to protect his sister.  The students enhanced their knowledge by watching the mythological stories related to the origin of the festival. This was followed by the captivating dance performances, mesmerizing song presentations, key board playing by the students to honour the bond and love. All the mesmerizing performances brightened the whole atmosphere with respect and gratitude for the purest relation of love, i.e. Raksha Bandhan.
The underscore of the celebration were the vibrant rakhis and cards made with eternal love. The students made beautiful cards and wrote heart touching messages for their siblings. They used their creativity and ingenuity to create dazzling rakhis. In all, it was a highly successful celebration where children were familiarized with the origin, customs and rituals followed on Raksha Bandhan. By celebrating this festival, we promoted a feeling of love, unity and brotherhood among our learners leading to a harmonious social life.

“India – the great country where each bud blooms in its true colours, where each day is a celebration of unity, harmony, and synthesis.” Our beautiful country got the much-deserved freedom after a long struggle. Every year, we celebrate our Independence Day with the same fervor, love, and pride.

The Pre-Primers were also equally excited for a 3-day long celebration of our National Festival. Throughout the week, the children were made aware of our country’s rich heritage, the long struggle for freedom and the contribution of our freedom fighters and many unsung heroes who gave up their lives to see our country free again. The celebrations started from Friday and the preparations that the kids had done were overwhelming. The virtual atmosphere was full of energy, fun, and patriotism.  Everyone was cheerful and singing songs like “We Shall Overcome” and “Saare Jahan Se Accha.” The Pre-Nursery kids were thrilled to make a tricolor sandwich. The Nursery kids made beautiful kites using pulses and rice. The Kindergarteners were delighted to do role play on our Freedom Fighters. Our little ones were dressed up as Rani Lakshmibai, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Chacha Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, and many more and gave a stupendous performance. Saturday had the theme of “Cinematic Patriotism.” The little Xaverians were dressed up in tricolors and watched some short stories related to our freedom fighters and Independence Day. They had some fun with dance and music. The celebrations commenced with a webinar on Day 3 - “Historical Flash Walk.” Children prepared a beautiful dance number and some inspiring role plays for the webinar.

Hoisting our National Flag is always a moment of pride for every Indian. It reminds us that we are independent in so many ways. So, let’s not take our independence for granted and do our bit to make India a better place, a country that our future generations can always be proud of. Jai Hind!!

Our Independence Day is commemorated each year on 15th August to glorify our nation. It is the day to honour and pay tribute to our freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our country.

To apprise the students about the golden heritage of our country and instil the feelings of patriotism and pride for motherland, a special assembly on Independence Day was conducted on 13th August'21. It was exhilarating  to see Xaverians soaked in the spirit of patriotic fervour and dressed up in tri-colour attires. They exhibited great enthusiasm and gusto in their presentations, poem recitation, songs to express their gratitude towards the nation. A documentary on Indian Freedom Struggle was  shown to enlighten them about this momentous day of our history followed by an enriching quiz session. They were also engaged in magnificent art and craft activities to mark the celebration.

Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day illuminating us to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.
