PARENT ORIENTATION SESSION HELD BY TRINITY COLLEGE, LONDON

Communication is power. Those who learn effectively and put it to effective use, they can change their own experience of the world and the world’s experience of them.

When we think about preparing students for college, career, and life, just teaching by book doesn’t suffice. To meet the demands of our changing economy, we must go beyond math, social studies, and science—the future of education lies in helping students develop lifelong skills that will set them up for success in the 21st century. And communication is one of the skills that triggers the acquisition of other skills.

Xaverians are fortunate enough to get opportunities to hone these much-required skills.

St. Xavier’s High School, Sector 81, Gurugram is all set to roll out Speech and Drama Course affiliated with Trinity College, London for students of grades I – IV initially.

The Parent Orientation Session held on October 30, 2021, by Mr. Dale Edwards, India Head - Academic Team - Language | Communication | Drama | Performance Arts @Trinity College London and Mr. Varun Mata, Varun Mata – Head Operations, Trinity College London – North India, eminent associates with the esteemed institution was quite aspiring and informative for the parents. The parents were well equipped with the necessary details about the course and the plan of action.

The excitement and enthusiasm of parents got vividly reflected in their participation during the question round and the highly appreciative comments that flowed in during the session.

The session was truly informational and commendable. Let us give wings to our children to fly and reach the zenith of creativity and innovation.

Halloween celebration , Pre Primary, 
The magic and spirit of Halloween could be seen everywhere in the virtual classes as the Pre-Primers of St. Xavier’s celebrated this annual harvest festival with a lot of enthusiasm and fun. Kids learnt about the significance of this day and why we Indians celebrate this harvest festival that is mostly celebrated in western countries. Everyone was talking and planning about trick or treat. Teachers added to the fun by wearing scary makeup and using creative Halloween props. Kids were so excited to don the makeup, spooky costumes and carry their props. There were cute, scary little faces all over the screens but no one was afraid. Instead, everyone was laughing and enjoying. Kids played games like who is behind the pumpkin and being creative on paper plate, did some dance, and made beautiful crafts. The Pre-Nursery kids made a beautiful goody bag. The Kindergarteners made a beautiful Halloween hanging to ward off all the evil spirits. May jack o’lantern keep away the negative things and let only happiness inside our doors. Happy Halloween everyone!!

Halloween Boo Bash @ St. Xavier’s High School,Sec.81
Halloween is a time for celebration, a day that marks the end of summer, the harvest and the beginning of winter. In our quest to enable our Xaverians peep into and build interest in culture of other countries as well, a Halloween Boo Bash was organized which evidently made the ambience spooky. Xaverians of grades I-IX were brimmed with super excitement and joyous spirit to mark Spooktacular Halloween celebration on 29th October,2021.  Xaverians were decked up in various outfits to mark the welcoming of good spirits and driving away the bad spirits in their lives. It was a treat to watch super happy Dracula’s, wizards, witches, goblins and other interesting characters walking around. Excited faces were seen everywhere as children posed for photographs to the equally thrilled facilitators. The students got the opportunity to go trick or treat, enjoy candy, and dance at Halloween celebration. In order to celebrate the spooky side numerous Halloween activities were thoroughly enjoyed by the children. Students were absolutely engrossed in activities like Pumpkin Carving, Skeleton Making, Elocution, Scariest Face Painting under their facilitator’s guidance. A nerve-racking story was the ultimate climax for the exuberant students who were really engrossed in the movie and absorbed the moral to ‘drain the ghost with in us and deploy the angel in our hearts’ for a better world.

The lamps lighted on Diwali symbolize the victory of good over evil. We celebrate this story each year by lighting millions of them all over the world.
Xaverians have recreated the divine saga to celebrate the joyous festival and spread the light of positivity in the world.

Dussehra celebration @ St. Xavier’s High School, sec.81

“India is known as a land of festivals and celebration, Dussehra is one of them which is unique in its perception and significance.”

Festivals are the period of celebration and bring peace and joy for everyone. They are an expressive way to celebrate glorious heritage, culture and traditions. To enhance that among our Xaverians, St.Xavier’s High School, sec.81 organized Dusshera celebration with a lot of religious zeal and fervour. It was a plethora of fun filled and learning activities virtually which included role play by the little ones in which the children were beautifully decked up to play the role of their favourite mythological character from Ramayana with perfect poise, confidence and expression. Keeping the festive spirit alive, the teachers also presented a virtual mini-Ramayana and mythological stories to the kids, the presentation conveyed the message of victory of Lord Rama over Ravana and reinforced the message that good always triumphs over evil. Children learnt values of honesty, respect, humility and obedience, which are the core of our Indian epic, Ramayana. The celebration was glorified as the kids presented tremendous poems, dance and song performances and shloka enchantment evidently added spirituality to the ambience. Quizzes and craft activities entirely soaked the children in festive spirit. The enthusiasm of Xaverians knew no bounds as they performed virtual dandiya. All the children zealously participated and enjoyed the celebration with much ardour along with the pledge to follow the path of dharma. Thus the celebration not only enriched their learning but also made it memorable for our Xaverians which will be cherished for a long time.

Play n Sway , KG F , 11.10.21  
The wait was finally over for KG F kids as it was time for them to attend the special session of Play ‘n Sway. They could not stop smiling as they met their teachers and friends. It was a happy scene as everyone enjoyed doing various activities together like singing and dancing. They also got some fancy tattoos. Parents were very happy to see their little ones laughing and having a lot of fun and could not stop applauding the school’s efforts.

GRADE II-C
Date: 08.10.21 

Grade II-C  students had a fun celebration in their Play ‘n Sway session as they were meeting up with their teachers and friends. Doing activities together for the first time in the new Normal made them really happy. 

 They were excited to meet their teachers and  clown and also got a cute takeaway from them.
It was overall a wonderful event and children were extremely happy.

Play n Sway , KG E , 07.10.21 
KG E kids had a fun celebration in their Play ‘n Sway session as they were meeting up with their teachers and friends. Doing activities together for the first time made them really happy. They did some crayoning, got tattoos, did some dancing, and enjoyed various PE activities planned especially for them. They were excited to meet the teacher dressed up as clown and also got a cute takeaway from them.

Teachers and kids were equally excited to meet each other during the Play ‘n Sway session. They were talking about it for a long time and finally were able to meet each other. The beautiful bond created online between them was quite evident. Everyone had a fun time doing different interesting activities like face painting, getting tattoos, and clicking pictures in the Selfie Corner for keeping memories alive of this special day.

KG C kids had a totally engaging session with a plethora of activities planned especially for them, namely Selfie Corner, Music, and Dance. Kids were excited to spend time with their teachers and friends and just could not stop talking to each other. They just wanted the session to continue. Teacher dressed up as a clown cheered up the kids and also gave them an adorable clowny takeaway.

Kids came to school after a long time for few hours, and they danced and hopped and played and ran and squealed and were delighted in abundance. Energy and enthusiasm levels were palpable indeed. 
There were many fun activities like dance, music, games, face painting, hand printing on a tree, selfie corner etc. The teachers and children were in full spirit throughout the event. The cherry on the cake was presence of  our respected Principal Sir and HM ma’am. 

Children really wanted to stay back for more. 
The children were given takeaway and lots of pictures were clicked to capture this beautiful long-lasting memory. Indeed, it was an amazing day for all of us.

TIMES SCHOOL SURVEY 2021
Another milestone achieved by St. Xavier’s High School, Sector 81.

The Times School Survey has ranked St. Xavier’s High School, Sector 81 as the second-best school in Challengers Category. It gives us immense pride to share that Xavier’s is one of the top progressive schools in new Gurugram in terms of innovation, academics, life skills, sports education and co-curricular education. It is readily passing the legacy to explore, engage and excel among its learners and growing each year with flying colours.

Play n Sway - KG B, 04.10.21 
Fun continued for the students of KG B who were thrilled to meet their teachers and friends for the very first time. They had a very good time playing different PE games and doing face painting, getting tattoos, colouring, singing and dancing with everyone. The parents were happy to notice the grinning faces of the little kids having fun and were very appreciative of the school’s efforts.

In a world, torn apart by violence, terrorism, unhealthy competition, degradation of moral values and culture, we seek love, peace, tranquillity, human dignity and revival of our glorious past laden with values and ethics, what better reasons are there to remember Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the father of our nation, a great leader, an immortal soul who taught the world how to win a war in peace. India will mark the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, fondly remembered by people across the world as “Mahatma” or “Bapu”, on October 2, this year. Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated by the nation to commemorate the birth anniversary of the father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Proud Xaverians of St. Xavier’s High School, sec-81 also took it upon itself to pay homage to this noble soul at a special assembly on 30th September, 2021.The highlight of the assembly were anecdotes from Gandhiji’s life as presentations which depicted our freedom struggle and the role Gandhi ji played to help us achieve our prized freedom. This was, particularly, useful for our young Xaverians who are slowly becoming aware of the acute hardships our forefathers faced as they struggled to free our motherland. The celebration gave the children an insight into the life and times of Gandhi ji and encouraged them to think about the values of sacrifice and freedom. The assembly echoed with Gandhiji’s favourite devotional song, ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’. Following this, the children dived in various activities like paragraph writing on Bapu, craft making activity, drawing and painting on the theme of ‘Swach Bharat’. It was a delight to watch little Xaverians dressed as bapu. Children pledged to follow Bapu’s belief that one must lead a simple but noble life. They also promised to follow the path of non -violence, as Gandhi ji championed the importance of pen over the sword. The assembly concluded with the beautiful song ‘Bande me tha dum, Vande Mataram’ which invoked the spirit of the unforgettable sacrifice.

Gandhi Jayanti , Pre Primary wing celebration- 
 A very special being on the earth that our country was fortunate to have, a man who was a staunch believer of “nonviolence” and “Satyamev Jayate” and a man who believed that everyone deserves an equal chance – Mahatma Gandhi. He was rightly called the “Father of the Nation” and fondly called “Bapu” by many. Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated by the pre primary students where they were made aware about the significance of this day. They got to know about many things related to his life and how hardly, but peacefully he worked to get our freedom back. They learned about his life motto of “See no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil.
