Celebrating the Legacy: Heralding the future # Republic Day Celebration, 2022

India’s 73rd Republic Day was commemorated in all its solemnity and grandeur with  at St. Xavier’s High School, Sec.81. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating unity. They bonded with immense patriotism, fervour and zeal virtually. A plethora of activities was organised to infuse the spirit of unity, brotherhood and patriotism among Xaverians. The day commenced with a live webinar on Republic Day where the effervescent participants and the audience were evidently soaked in the spirit. The Indian flag unfurling on Xavier’s ground  and the National Anthem echoing in the open sky was scenic and filled everyone’s heart with immense patriotism. The special assembly conducted  sensitized Xaverians about the significance of the day through presentations and the light was also thrown on the importance of the Constitution of India. It was delightful to watch children presenting soulful songs and dancing to celebrate the monumental day. They were shown informative videos, reiterating the importance of the Drafting Committee headed by Dr B.R. Ambedkar. The students of the Middle & Senior Departments presented videos showcasing the history and significance of Republic Day followed by a motivational talk highlighting the duties & rights of citizens. The celebration inspired the students to abide by the Constitution of their motherland and fulfil all their duties as responsible citizens. The event concluded with the rendition of the National Song. The image of the fluttering tricolour flag in the mind and heart of Xaverians , will always remind them of their proud country. May we continue celebrating this day forever with our heads held high!

Pre Primary Republic day celebrations -
A mighty bird can fly very high, but if the flight has no direction, then the bird’s efforts are a sheer waste. In the same way, if a country doesn't have a specific direction, rules to follow and responsibilities to adhere to, the country cannot prosper. These rules were introduced for our country on 26th January 1950, the historic day when our country got its own Constitution and became a Republic Nation. This year, we are celebrating our 73rd Republic Day. The proud little Xaverians of the Pre-Primary wing celebrated this National Festival with a lot of enthusiasm. Throughout the week, they learnt about this important day and also the interesting new things that are happening this time; like the unique Nritya Utsav, the Made-in-India project of drones, and the Kala Kumbh to name a few. They also got to know why this day is celebrated and watched a related story. They were really amazed to see the grand celebrations, parade and the colourful extravaganza that takes place at Rajpath every year. They were encouraged to see the live telecast of the flag hoisting and parade on 26th January and share their experiences. The Pre-Nursery kids beautifully decorated our National Bird Peacock and made a tricolor badge. The Nursery kids enjoyed doing the patriotic dance and made a tricolor headband for themselves. The KG kids made an interesting tricolor wristband and were happy to wear that. Kids were reminded of how they can be a responsible citizen right from their childhood. Let's enjoy our freedom, fulfill our duties and responsibilities and make our country proud and shine forever. We wish everyone a very Happy Republic Day. Jay Hind!

“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”

There are a lot of things in the world that can make us smile but nothing beats the invaluable joy of making someone happy. Soaked in the spirit of sharing is caring, St. Xavier's High School celebrated the 'Joy of Giving' in December'21. The staff and students of Xavier's family participated wholeheartedly by donating woollen clothes and other useful items for the underprivileged families.

The contribution was handed over to Saar Welfare Foundation, a non-profit organization working for the welfare of disadvantaged people. We feel proud that we were able to spread elation and bliss in life of others.

Reading as we all know opens a whole new world of knowledge and learning. Books need to be a child's best friend always. The early we expose our children to exciting reading, it will enable them to develop a love for books as well.
In our constant endeavour to improve literacy skills of Xaverians, we have gone a step ahead and felt elated to take our Xaverians into an amazing world of books to hone students' reading skills. The reading sessions were conducted on regular basis during reading time. The efforts made it easier than ever before to strengthen the bond between the students and books. The efforts led our children to explore the incredible world of books and language. Xaverians thoroughly dugged in reading levelled books .

Communication is power. Those who learn effectively and put it to effective use, they can change their own experience of the world and the world’s experience of them.
When we think about preparing students for college, career, and life, just teaching by book doesn’t suffice. To meet the demands of our changing economy, we must go beyond math, social studies, and science—the future of education lies in helping students develop lifelong skills that will set them up for success in the 21st century. And communication is
one of the skills that triggers the acquisition of other skills.

Xaverians are fortunate enough to get opportunities to hone these much-required skills.
