International Tiger Day , Pre Primary wing
The most magnificent creature in the entire world and our National Animal with a lot of qualities that make him exceptional and different - the “Tiger.”  International Tiger Day is celebrated annually on 29th July to make people aware of the importance of this very special creature on our planet. The Pre-Primary kids also got a chance to know about this important day and its significance. They were enlightened with many interesting facts about this striped and furry animal. They were amazed to know that Tigers mark their territories and are great swimmers and hunters. At the same time, they felt sad that they are being hunted too and there are only a few tigers left now on our entire planet. The Pre-Nursery and Nursery kids made a craft by using some shape cutouts and making a tiger face. Kindergarteners also made a cute stick puppet by drawing, colouring, and then pasting a tiger face on stick. Our little Xaverians also took a pledge that they will try to do their bit to save this special animal. It is not only important to make our children aware about this important cause, but we should also do whatever we can and educate everyone so that this mighty creature is no longer an endangered species.

Tiger is a symbol of Beauty, Bravery, Strength, and Nationality, so Save the Tiger- Save the Nation’s Pride.”- International Tiger Day-2021
Every year on 29th July, Global Tiger Day is celebrated to raise awareness for tiger conservation. The primary goal is to promote a global system for protecting the natural habitats of tigers and raise public awareness and support for tiger conservation issues. Tigers are majestic species and revered in various cultures. They are also an endangered species and the number of tigers is consistently declining due to poaching, hunting and illegal trading as well as loss of habitat. With the aim to acquaint Xaverians with the afore stated facts, International Tiger Day was earmarked @ St. Xavier’s High School, sec-81, by raising awareness among our learners and motivating them to take concrete steps to protect India‘s national animal from extinction.
Special assemblies were conducted for the grades I-X, with the theme, “Their Survival is in our hands”. The learners were made aware about the declining population of tigers and need of conserving them globally. Children were amused to get acquainted via presentations, that globally there are only 3900 tigers left and 95 percent of the tiger population has got extinct.
Xaverians pledged to save the tigers as they are one of the most majestic and royal species that we have seen globally. The celebration concluded with some sound, determined goals to save tigers and their habitat.

Guru Purnima and Parents Day , Pre Primary
The path of life has many ups and downs and it is always very uncertain what will happen next. That is why we need ‘Gurus’ to lead us on the correct path! Hence, Guru Purnima is celebrated to acknowledge the contribution of the teachers/Gurus.
So, who are the first and the most important teachers in everyone’s life? It is their very own parents. Parents  are the first and the best teachers. It is rightly said that – “The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.” It is the parent who sees the first smile on the lips of the child and makes it a permanent one with their teachings.

At St. Xaviers we celebrated GURU PURNIMA AND PARENTS DAY on Friday 23 July 2021. The celebration started with shloka and importance of guru in our life.
There was the sweet and touching moment when all the Nursery kids made a craft for their parents, their first guru in life who taught them all the good things.

Many relevant events are celebrated to make everyone aware about the importance of taking care of our planet. One such occasion is “World Paper Bag Day” that is celebrated annually on 12th July to reaffirm the much-needed daily use of paper bags over plastic bags. We all know that the easily available plastic affects not only our planet, but also ourselves in an unhealthy way. It takes thousands of years for the plastic to decompose. As a result, it does not let the earth breathe. A very easy and inexpensive way to tackle this problem is using paper bags. The simple yet classy paper bags are our ultimate answer to this problem. They are not only biodegradable and ecofriendly, but can also be easily recycled into newspapers, magazines, books, and many more things. The Pre Primary children were made aware about the significance of this very important day. They got to know that paper bags not only decompose within a month, but are also safe for pets and other animals.
PN and Nur kids used newspaper to make a bag and decorated with petals, whereas KG kids made a cute and easy “Mickey Mouse Paper Bag” for themselves. It was nice to see that some kids were using recyclable paper that they had coloured themselves to make these paper bags. Kids were happy to put their crayons and other small stuff inside their bag. Kids are very grasping and acceptive of the information that is provided to them. It is indeed the right time to sow these seeds of knowledge in them so that when they grow up, they know what is the right thing to do. Let’s be responsible and choose paper bags over plastic bags and don’t forget to use them wisely.
