The Pre-Primers celebrated Guru Nanak Jayanti - the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. They learnt about the importance of this day and many things about his life, his teachings, his beliefs and his 3 golden rules of "Naam Japo, Kirt Karo and Vand Shako." Kids watched a story related to Guru Nanak Dev Ji's life and his magical powers. They also went on a virtual tour of "The Golden Temple at Amritsar" and saw how the various activities are carried out inside, including the selfless seva at the world's largest free eatery - the langar. They also saw the exceptional and beautiful lighting at Golden Temple that takes place on this auspicious occasion. May the holy teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji guide us through the right path in our lives. Warm Gurpurab wishes to everyone!!

It all began with a special school assembly wherein the teachers stepped in to the shoes of our students and conducted the entire assembly right from Lord’s prayer, reading Xavier’s bulletin, sharing the thought of the day, significance of the day and an engaging, hilarious skit was thoroughly enjoyed by Xaverians. Students cheered their teachers as they saw them performing as kids and laughed boisterously at their jokes. Pre Primary - Children`s day celebration

The most precious of the God’s creations, who spread the fragrance of love wherever they go. Without any effort, they can spread the joy and happiness in every season and can light up every room. A day full of laughter, lots of fun, dance, music, and games awaited the Pre-Primers as they celebrated their very special day – Children’s Day. Children were sent an invite and informed prior to dress up in their favourite dresses and to keep some party snacks ready. They were all geared up for the celebration. Kids learnt in a fun way why the birthday of our first prime minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, started getting celebrated as Children’s Day. Teachers were also dressed up with masks and props and had decorated the classrooms especially for the event. Interesting games like memory game, guessing games, move and freeze, hit the pyramid and many more were played. Kids also watched a movie related to the day. The kids made cute hand puppets and were totally enjoying playing with it. The day was eventful and well spent. Let’s continue spreading the joy and never let age extinguish our inner child. Happy Children’s Day!

                        ‘Let’s Make a Difference! Let’s Celebrate Green Diwali 2021!’

Festivals are an expression of joy and connect with the man’s highest aspirations and deepest yearnings. Diwali, the festival of lights, is a celebration that marks the victory of good over evil, light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. Diwali is celebrated across all communities of India, creating a homogenous environment of goodwill and happiness. This festival reminds us of our primary responsibility to pursue the path of light and represent the brilliance of life in health, wealth, happiness, victory, courage, sharing, joy and enlightenment. Diwali is the time for both gratitude and gaiety.

St. Xavier’s High School, sec.81 was abuzz for Green Diwali Celebration, an IDS activity, on 2nd November,2021, with Xaverians all set to celebrate Diwali through the virtual special assembly. It was wonderful to see Xaverians firing up the festivities with their enthusiastic and energetic performances. A plethora of activities which included shloka presentation, Diwali song singing and zesty dance performances, poster and rangoli making, resulted in a glorious Green Diwali celebration. Each and every performance by the students decked up in all of Diwali fineries was praiseworthy.

The Eco-Friendly Diwali celebration was marked with fervour and chose to underscore a special message through their presentation and activities that the joy from possessing and enjoying is nothing compared to the joy of giving. A brief presentation on “Say no to crackers “sent a positive message not only to Xaverians but to the entire society as a whole to conserve the environment. The special assembly on Diwali urged our students to celebrate Diwali with a good cause, to experience the joy of giving, to be environment friendly and enjoy a noiseless Diwali and above all to spread the light of happiness through understanding and caring. The assembly successfully ended with a message that if we care even a little bit about the society, we can easily light up the lives of the needy by spending the amount we would spend to buy firecrackers, on some good and noble cause, helping the poor and the needy.

Wishing everyone a very happy and eco-friendly Diwali!

Diwali - the festival of lights was celebrated by the Pre-Primary wing with much enthusiasm. Kids were made aware of why this festival is celebrated and its significance. They watched the story of Diwali and got to know how everyone was super happy and had lit up the roads when Lord Ram was returning to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. Emphasis was laid upon celebrating the “Eco-friendly” Diwali. Kids learnt how burning crackers is unhealthy not only for us, but also for our animals, plants, and planet. Kids took a vow to not burn crackers and celebrate a green Diwali this time. Kids danced to the Diwali song that they had learnt in their dance class. Pre-Nursery kids decorated diyas and candles beautifully and also made a toran. They made bhel puri as a part of the celebration. The Nursery kids also painted diyas for decorating their homes. The Kindergarteners made a beautiful decorative piece using some shape cutouts and diyas. Everyone had a good time celebrating the festival virtually. May the festival of lights bring prosperity, peace, and happiness for everyone. We wish all a very Happy Diwali!!
