‘Let’s Make a Difference! Let’s Celebrate Green Diwali 2021!’
Festivals are an expression of joy and connect with the man’s highest aspirations and deepest yearnings. Diwali, the festival of lights, is a celebration that marks the victory of good over evil, light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. Diwali is celebrated across all communities of India, creating a homogenous environment of goodwill and happiness. This festival reminds us of our primary responsibility to pursue the path of light and represent the brilliance of life in health, wealth, happiness, victory, courage, sharing, joy and enlightenment. Diwali is the time for both gratitude and gaiety.
St. Xavier’s High School, sec.81 was abuzz for Green Diwali Celebration, an IDS activity, on 2nd November,2021, with Xaverians all set to celebrate Diwali through the virtual special assembly. It was wonderful to see Xaverians firing up the festivities with their enthusiastic and energetic performances. A plethora of activities which included shloka presentation, Diwali song singing and zesty dance performances, poster and rangoli making, resulted in a glorious Green Diwali celebration. Each and every performance by the students decked up in all of Diwali fineries was praiseworthy.
The Eco-Friendly Diwali celebration was marked with fervour and chose to underscore a special message through their presentation and activities that the joy from possessing and enjoying is nothing compared to the joy of giving. A brief presentation on “Say no to crackers “sent a positive message not only to Xaverians but to the entire society as a whole to conserve the environment. The special assembly on Diwali urged our students to celebrate Diwali with a good cause, to experience the joy of giving, to be environment friendly and enjoy a noiseless Diwali and above all to spread the light of happiness through understanding and caring. The assembly successfully ended with a message that if we care even a little bit about the society, we can easily light up the lives of the needy by spending the amount we would spend to buy firecrackers, on some good and noble cause, helping the poor and the needy.
Wishing everyone a very happy and eco-friendly Diwali!
