Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna, indicates the beginning of hope.

We, at St. Xaviers sought the blessings of Lord Almighty with mirth and exultation. The fragrance of flowers, the soothing music and the jingle of matkis filled the entire atmosphere with a positive aura.  To celebrate the euphoria and a joyous spirit of enthrallment, we took the opportunity to jubilate and worship Lord Krishna.
The students of Grade I and II were dressed up as lord Krishna and Radha, completing their attire with flutes, peacock feathers and matkis.
Special Assembly on  Janmashtami was held.
The school premises were decorated beautifully and the spirit of festivity was enhanced with Inter-house singing and dancing competitions. The celebration was truly entertaining and educating. The purpose of the flamboyant celebration was to inculcate values of our rich culture and tradition in Xaverians.

“Freedom in the mind, faith in the words, pride in our hearts and memories in our souls…. Let us salute our nation on Independence Day!”

We, at Xavier's  celebrated the completion of 75 years of Independence with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The entire staff was dressed up in tri coloured Indian attire.
To instill a feeling of patriotism and to make the children more aware of the innumerable sacrifices made by our great leaders, various special assemblies were conducted for the Primary wing and Senior wing.  On this patriotic occasion, the students of senior grades presented a skit wherein they showcased the 75 years long journey of India like it had never been done before!  They even recited a self-composed rap along with a dance drama. On the other hand, our tiny tots sang patriotic songs and also presented a beautiful dance performance glorifying our independence.

The celebrations filled the air with patriotism and it was a tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for bestowing us with this freedom.

Furthermore, the message of HAR GHAR TIRANGA was spread loud and clear and a sense of happiness and pride could be clearly seen on the faces of all the Xaverians as they participated in various inter-class competitions.

The day was a plethora of emotions, reminding us of the pain of being enslaved and of the strength in unity. It gave us an example that some wars can be won with non-violence and of all the things, it made us value and cherish the freedom we have today!

                  Har Ghar Tiranga!

                  *Freedom in the mind
                  Faith in the words
                  Pride in our souls!*

With this in our hearts, let us loudly hoist the Indian flag at our respective homes and celebrate "HAR GHAR TIRANGA".
