“Skating can make you feel athletic, graceful, beautiful.’’

Roller skating is a sport, an art form, a lifestyle, and culture. Roller skating is the perfect way to combine fitness with fun.
Skating has always been one of the favourite sports at St. Xavier’s High School. In skating the students enjoy the thrill of speed as well as realize the importance of balance in their lives. Therefore it was not a surprise that  the students of grade I-IV were hysterical to participate in the Inter-House Skating Competition which was held on Friday,July 19, 2019  at St. Xavier’s High School, Sector 81.

As per the school policy of ‘safety first’, all the students were ready with their protective gears for this super exciting competition.

Zooming skaters went buzzing on their roller skates. The enthusiasm and sportsmanship of not only the little ones, but also their house mentors left everyone spellbound. The students were able to portray their talent with their high sportsmanship in Inline and Adjustable categories. They showcased an energetic and enthusiastic performance which was applauded by the audience.

The entire competition was witnessed by the headmistress Ms. Sarika R. Chopra who was delighted to sense the enthusiasm among the participants and the spectators. The excitement and fervor during the competition was undoubtedly infectious. The competition was judged by the team of Skating trainers who had tough time while making judgments, as each child was one better than his nearest competitor. They all appreciated and lauded the efforts of  the young skaters who contributed their best in making the event successful.

The beaming winners were declared in the end with their house names as mentioned below-

Father Figure: Daddy is my Super Hero

Father Figure: Daddy is my Super Hero !!

“The greatest gift I have ever got from God; I call him Dad.”

God has sent love to us in various forms and one of them is our Father. Efforts of a father must be acknowledged, complying with the fact grade II Xavierians took the opportunity through a special assembly held on 11th July,2019, to not only  celebrate the role of fathers and other males within the family but also to reignite the fire in order to love our fathers, unconditionally as they do.

The assembly commenced with seeking blessings from the Lord Almighty. The young  Xavierians unfolded their flair with great fervor and absolute confidence. Esteemed Headmistress and Coordinator maám were whole heartedly welcomed  and adorned with welcome badges.

The celebration was commemorated by the students with heartfelt gratitude towards all the father figures. They acknowledged the fathers’ dedications, devotions and also the efforts made by them in raising & nurturing their families via their introductory speech. The ambience was infused with alluring and magnificient  poem recitation , leaving the gathering mesmerized to the depth.

The assembly was extended by the surrealistic skit performed on the theme “Thank You Father”, which vividly conveyed the message that spiritual growth, support, guidance, stability, nurture and love: these are all things good fathers and mothers can give to their children. The little  performers amusingly expressed  their belief that, “A dad is someone who wants to catch you before you fall ,instead picks you up, brushes you off, and let you try again.”

Grade II Xavierians successfully conveyed the message in their speech that there’s nothing in the universe that can give as much pleasure as does the love of a father gives. He should be admired for what he does for everyone in the family. He is one of the most influential person in our lives. No matter what, he will always protect his children.

The gratitude expressed by the young Xavierians towards their fathers, left every heart poured with intense sentiments. Special vote of thanks by the students dedicated to all the fathers was worthy to acknowledge the unconditional and beautiful relation of a child and father. The assembly effectively instigated the children’ love for their father and also sensitized them about the concrete role of a father.
