STUDENT
EXCHANGE PROGRAMME WITH SOUTH KOREA
Learning experiences
enhanced, a boost in self confidence and self esteem, improvement in decision
making and independent thinking skills, understanding and acceptance of
different cultures and perspectives and the list goes endless of the benefits
and learning of Xavierians who went to South Korea for the Student Exchange
Programme 2019-20. Students had life enriching experiences from October 05,
2019 till October 13, 2019 in South Korea. The group marked a joyful sojourn of
experiencing the Korean culture.
Students were warmly
welcomed in Sangwon Elementary School in a marvelous opening ceremony wherein a
national anthem of both the countries was sung with great pride and honour.
Respected Director Sir was welcomed earnestly by the Principal of Sandwon
Elementary School, Mr. Yeo Yanggu. This was followed by MOU ceremony, where the
documents were signed.
The Exchange Programme
boosted the self-confidence and skill-sets, helping students gain a greater
understanding of the complexities of the world around. Students had the best
intercultural experience by relishing the Korean cuisines, wearing Korean
cultural dress and making traditional dessert of Korea, Hanbok. Students even
visited National Science Museum, Geological Museum, Creative Invention
Experience Centre, Daejeon Street, Eunhaeng-dong, Hanbat Arboretum, Natural
Monument Center and Daegeon Germ Ecology Center and also attended Korean
language class which enabled them cultivate a
global mindset and gave them an opportunity to broaden their knowledge base and
learn in a multicultural environment.
They
gained a rich understanding of the Korean culture by witnessing the science
festival in Sangwon Elementary School and also actively engaged in their
classroom activities. Xavierians also displayed an enthusiastic Bhangra performance
and a confident speech highlighting the vibrant and diverse Indian culture.
Exemplary
spirit was demonstrated by the students. Sovenirs brought with immense love and
gratitude were exchanged.
They
enjoyed the street shopping in Seoul and ended with mini Korea in their luggage
and visited 3D museum. It was a milestone in the personal and professional
journey of students which they ecstatically passed in Korea.
The Exchange programme
was extremely enriching and rewarding experience for the students. It was more
than just an academic venture, because it encompassed so many lessons about
life itself.
